One of the highlights of the wedding day is the speeches. Second of course to the vows and the first dance, the wedding speeches given by those close to the bride and groom command attention as a special tribute. If you are asked to give a speech, consider this a great honor.

Giving a speech or a toast at a couple’s wedding reception is not something to be taken lightly and therefore you want to put some excellent preparation and thought behind the words you will speak. Consider your relationship to the bridal couple and then determine the very best way to proceed.

Speak from the Heart

The very best wedding speeches or toasts come right from the heart. Let your emotions do the talking and be sure to touch on how much they mean to you and what a great couple they are.

While it can help to mark down your words on a note card so you don’t forget anything, don’t just read the speech as it will seem overly prepared. Speak freely and honestly and let your special feelings for the happy couple come through as you give your speech.

A Little Humor Can Go a Long Way

Some people try to make their speech nothing but funny. While humor can certainly be an aspect of the special speech or toast, don’t work too hard to make it funny. If you try too hard or focus solely on the humorous aspect of your speech, then it will show. If you insert a joke or a little bit of humor, that’s okay but let it be on a limited basis.

A funny anecdote here and there can go a lot further than a speech filled with humor that comes across as trying way too hard.

Don’t Embarrass the Bridal Couple

While some may have the instinct to embarrass the bride and groom on memories gathered through the years, try to stay away from this method.

This can backfire and end up insulting the couple or the guests, so it’s always dangerous territory if you go towards humiliation.

Remember that this is the couple’s special day and you were asked to give a speech because you are close to one or both of them, so cater your words to that point of view. Working too hard to embarrass the bride or groom isn’t usually in good taste and therefore speaking special words from the heart can make a much more meaningful and appreciated toast.

Would you be interested in knowing what keyword phrases Google think are the most relevant to your google search query?  Would you like the results to be kept updated all the time?  How about being able to access the information at no cost?

And in addition what about if I mentioned that you could retrieve all the info using nothing but your favorite browser  and a regular Google search?

Interested?  Read on....

Firstly lets start with the basics and discuss relevance, as this term a very important part of Googles search engine results.

Google wants to provide the searcher with the most accurate and relevant results that it can.  They are aware that if they do not provide this information, it’s probable that searchers will no longer use their search engine completely, and no users means no ad revenues which is their primary source of income!

For a classic example of a search engine dropping the ball, spare a thought for AltaVista?  In its time it was the most popular search engine, and almost overnight (not quite) was displaced from 1st position to Google because they dropped the ball with relevance.

I doubt there is such a thing as search engine loyalty (at least not for the average search engine user).  If a better solution arrives, the everyday people will just start using that search engine.

Trust me when I say The Powers To Be At Google are very aware of this, and put a heap of resources into making sure that when you use Google, the results that come back are very related to your the search term you used.

They have to keep the average user happy so that they use Google again and again.

Devious Geeks have, of course found methods to "game" Google in previous years, so that their own web pages show up in place of what should be the most relevant results, and such techniques are still used in  modern times.

Mostly these techniques are found by Google who is getting smarter at locating these types of hacks.

Google seems to get it right most of the time, and certainly more than the other major search engines at this point in time.

Ok so given that Google is currently returning the most relevant results and has the biggest user base compared to any other search engine, and that its obvious that their primary mission is information relevance to their searchers, does it not make sense to go to their search results and be using this information more when conducting keyword research?

For example lets say your searching for the keyword phrase web traffic

When I entered that search term into google, I got back  list of current pages that Google tell us are the most relevance to that search term (along with a host of ads).

But in additional to these results at the bottom of the page they also provide (and here is the key)....

Searches RELATED to: targeted web traffic (Their words).

Hmm interesting a list of keywords that Google think are relevant to my search.

Google actually display to you the search terms that they deem to be the most relevant to your search phrase.

Now if you do some research about this, there is lots of speculation on how google decide on what phrases are displayed, but no matter what you think I think it's certainly worth looking at, isn’t it?

In my testing I found the keywords it came up with seemed to be keywords heavily searched on.

In the case of web traffic, the search terms returned to me were

increase web traffic
free web traffic
buy web traffic
google web traffic
web traffic report
web traffic generator
web traffic monitoring
measure web traffic

They all seem pretty related to my original search.

And you can drill down by clicking on a search term to get relevant keywords to that search term.  For example I could have clicked increase web traffic and received a list of related search terms that relate to that term.

This is getting interesting.   Before you pass on this method compared to using your favorite keyword research program, It's my suggestion consider the following.

1)  The information from these searches are directly from Googles data banks, so the data has not been corrupted in any way.

Many keyword tools don't use data from Google at all (Wordtracker) or combine information from multiple sources.  Here we have information direct from the source!

2) The information returned from Google is of course very up to date, unlike a lot of other keyword research data that can be months out of date.

I am not suggesting that you get rid of all other keyword tools in favor of this method, but I do suggest you check it out.  With all the latest whiz bang all conquering, overly hyped software tools that seemingly gets released everyday, sometimes it pays to take a step back and go back to just using a very simple method like searching in Google!

In my case, I actually use this technique in conjunction with other keyword tools, and get the best out of both worlds.  My 2 favorite keyword research tools currently are Nichebot and Market Samurai (google them).

I find the best use of this method is when searching new niches, or when establishing the viability of getting into a particular niche.

One final thing to note is that unfortunately not all keywords are supported.  Sometimes no related searches are provided for a given keyword, but given that it’s free I’m happy to overlook that oversight.

And sometimes I have to say the terms returned seem a little weird.  But this seems to be in more unusual niches that perhaps Google have not collected enough information for (my speculation).

Get out there and take a look at the related search function in Google.  The keyword phrases returned might end up being very useful.
