Google Keyword Research-what a pain!

Google keyword research is more crucial than ever before, as Google adwords is now the world's #1 ad network.100 countries are part of the google content network.

With such reach, the competition grows by the minute. Google is making a killing.More than $4b in 2007 from adwords. I dont know how much of that money came from profitable ads, but my guess is more advertisers lost money than made money on the ads.

Let's investigate the main reasons why ppc is so difficult

Discovering the exact keywords
Finding the winning combination
Writing good adverts
Proper PPC Ad Placement & Positioning
Good landing pages
Testing & Tweaking

Finding those right keywords: the keywords are the key factor. If you dont have the right words that people are searching for then you won't be getting any hits on your ads. Or even worse you could get hits from people looking for other things other than what you offer.

It's a catch 22 situation.

You want the clicks, but you dont want every click. One click from the correct individual is worth millions of clicks from others. You must make sure the keywords you choose for your ads are finely tailored to your product and to the exact keywords that potential customers will most likely be searching for.

But for you to find these keywords it will take alot of effort and time. And even worse, it might not pay off. The main keyword research tools are quite hard to use properly. Finding the Winning Combination: So you spend an insane amount of time that you cant really afford doing intense keyword research for your PPC ad campaign and now you are ready to try them out online. Wait! if you think you are done, you have a while to go. Having the keywords is great but now you need the right combination. It's pretty similar to taking an exam and the right answer is 786.

You could spend a lot of time but if you missed the answer by 1, you would be 100% wrong. There are no scores for getting it almost right. It's quite similar to paid per click. People are searching for more than specific words. They are searching for specific words in a specific order & specific combination.

You need to be right on the money if you want to attract the right customers. So now you must do more research with the keywords you have found and find out which keyword combination are the most successful ones.

This task in it of itself is diffucult, so i wont scare you by telling you that its actually even more complicated. That you need to find out what products your competition are promoting in combination with the landing pages and keywords & keyword combination that are making them a profit in order to make serious money.
